Plastic Damage
Plastic was orginally a revolationary discovery with near infinite
potential; But when we started using plastic for products that were meant
to be thrown away, thing spiraled out of control; During the course of a
century plastic has been able to get insert themselves into everything;
including food, water, our bodies, ect; In the form of micro-plastics.
Mirco-plastic are exactly what they sound like, tiny particles of plastic
that have been corroded overtime. This has allowed the plastic to
ineveitably get into the human body through 1,000s of different methods;
like through food, water, tooth paste, ect.
In the first decade of this century, we made more plastic than all the
plastic in history up to the year 2000.
Every year, billions of pounds of more plastic end up in the world's
oceans. Studies estimate there are now 15–51 trillion pieces of plastic in
the world's oceans — from the equator to the poles, from Arctic ice sheets
to the sea floor. Not one square mile of surface ocean anywhere on earth
is free of plastic pollution.
